Tips to avoid being ripped off by scam artist while using the Market Forums - Buy, Sell or Trade on Invision-Graphics.com!
1. Always do your homework
- Check their reputation, using Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines
- Check the number of posts they have on the forums
- Check the quality of posts in the forums, are they strictly self promotional or have little forum post at all?
- Check the length of time they have been registered on Invision-Graphics.com
- Who do they know on the forums and are they trusted
2. Beware of incredible items or products
- Ensure that the text of the goods or service for sale is concise and you know exactly what you are getting for your $$$
- If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
4. Payment Arrangements
- Agree to exact terms of payment before bidding or completing any contract, price, payments or method.
- Use your credit card to make any online purchases, if there is a problem you have buyers insurance as long as you used your credit card.
- Never wire transfer - be extremely careful around direct banking transactions to pay for goods, or internet digital goods
6. Don't come across as desperate
- Scammers work on the principle of catching you off guard
7. Don't get carried away in the excitement of winning an auction.
- This will blur your head and you might miss something very important that could cost you in the long run
8. Make sure you know their contact details
- "Contact details" is not the same as an email address and/or msn, yahoo or icq name or handle). Always get a contact phone number and address.
9. Always post feedback using the same forum post where it took place.
- Some users have not left feedback when something has gone irreversibly wrong, where you always should to ensure it doesn't happen to another user.
10. Use your common sense.
- Consider the offer and the terms very carefully; ensuring this is what you want. As after you may find it’s too late
11. After the transaction
- Post a review of how quickly it took place and how satisfied you are with your purchase, trade or sell withering it be good or bad.
- This will help other users decide whether they wish to do any trading, buying or selling to an individual who doesn’t come through on their end.
These tips and guidelines are to protect all users while participating in the Market Forums - Buy, Sell or Trade.
