I need to implement a CMS for my site. My hosting service comes with Fantastico so it includes many of the popular CMS systems like Joomla, WordPress, PHPNuke, Mambo as an installation option, but I want to be certain that I'm using the best solution for my needs. I'll ultimately have about ten individuals submitting content who need access to publish their work and articles across multiple pages and a few formats, as well as moderaters to help manage my forums. I'm building the forums currently with Invision Power Boards (as i like their features). Obviously, I want the forums, and layout, or database stuff to all sync or work together. I plan on doing some research tonight, and I've heard suggestions that Mambo and Wordpress are the best CMS (Content Managment Systems) to go with.
Any recommendations that might think best suites my site best Shawn? I would aqppreciate it..

It really all depends on what the web site needs are, and what you would like to have to offer to your visitors/members.
Another big consideration is the type of hosting you will use or that you have already bought, and how easily can it be used by the members who will be doing most of the major editing, submitting or authoring of the website.
Now I typically recommend building your own CMS, that way you can customize it or build it to your needs and the functionality that you may require.
It is very time consuming, but the pay off is that you know what is where and how to customize it, and even make things dynamic where other CMS's fall short.
However; if you’re not familiar with PHP and MySQL this can be a daunting task, and it’s not for everyone.
Here are my recommendations after reviewing your web site.
Things you’re going to have to consider on the structure of your web site.
What’s purpose of the site?
Will this be an informational or community site where users contribute the content?
What kind of information will be there and how sensitive the information is, in other words does some area's of the site need to be members only area's?
How easy is the member’s area's and registration process? After all
not all, users are the most tech savvy so you will want it to be simple to use and easy to understand and follow.
The users that will be updating the site - at least proficient in day to day publishing and know basic things like submitting, editing, WYSIWYG editors etc or are they totally just throw it together just to get it out there type of people?
How far have you gotten into the planning stages - and can you make an effective decision with the information you currently have or do need to spend some more time in that?
How dynamic does the site need to be?
Do you require certain material to expire after a certain date?
Do you need to upload zip files, tar files, word documents, PDF files for members to access only or do you wish to have a download section for visitors?
I assume you need a forum, as your site has one now; however you will need to probably export the post and categories in to an already made CMS (Content Management System).
I also notice you have a fair amount of graphics that you build static HTML pages for, I would recommend you install Gallery 2, however my choices below can easily accommodate a module type of platform for images as well as building Gallery2 right inside the CMS keeping it a part of the site.
Whatever you do - don't rush to get the site done and do things on a moments notice, take your time in planning and structuring things for growth, flexibility, and easy usability and constantly test the site as you will need to know all its functionality to answer user’s questions.
These are my top choices for your website,
Joomla #1 http://www.joomla.org
Mambo #2 http://www.mamboserver.com
Drupal #3 http://drupal.org
I choose these 3 as they offer great community support especially for someone like your self just starting out and they will be able to help you with questions or functionality.
They also all offer forums built in using the same database as the rest of the site so users can take part in the forums and the admin can assign levels where users can be more active an submit articles downloads and help manage the overall web site.
Of course I will always be able to assist you where you need help and will be here as best I can to help you accomplish your web site goals.

Wow, thanks again Shawn - you have provided me with some very useful information that I am sure to consider well planning my new website.
I checked out Joomla as you suggested and I think they will be the right fit for my site, the CMS has many features that I can adapt for my website as far as modular goes.
PHP and MySQL are not my strong points; so I may higher you on Shawn to help me get things going I’ll let you know.
Thanks again on helping me choose a content management system, and giving me some guidelines to follow during the process as I definitely want to incorporate some of my existing content that already receives much traffic from Google and Yahoo.

I am currently using that version.
