DMOZ Web Directory Sucks!
Yes you read it right - DMOZ Web Directory Sucks! Either the editors are sitting on their hands or it’s who you know that helps get your website or blog listed.
Invision-Graphics.com was submitted to DMOZ back in 2004; still to date we haven’t heard a thing. We haven’t been approved or denied and frankly it doesn't really matter!
Who ever said you need to be listed in DMOZ to have a successful website is simply blowing smoke!
So again - we re-submitted Invision-Graphics.com in 2005, 2006 and January of 2007! That’s once each year thinking they simply overlooked our submission!
Yet there is no way it takes an editor a full year to review a listing, but again we haven’t been a year waiting we’ve been waiting to be listed in DMOZ since 2004 that's 3 years!
To date we are still not listed, does this affect our search engine position? Hell No! We hold the number one position for more then 12 different keywords!
Our traffic is off the wall as we receive over 35,000 hits per day with 2,000+ hits being unique visitors!
So our suggestion to any user trying to get listed in DMOZ is; don't sweat it. Your website doesn't need it!
Submit your website or blogs to other web directories; ask for link exchanges with fellow friends and bloggers. Make sure to use public forums and have your link in your signature; but don’t go spamming your link.
All these methods work great! I say boycott DMOZ Web Directory and their so called wannabe editors as you’re simply wasting your time and efforts trying to get listed in the first place!
To prove our status you can review the following links, which are from 2005, notice the date and notice its always the same reply, no matter the amount of credentials you provide to when, where and what category you submitted too!

You can easily see, there's no need to be knocking on DMOZ door, as no ones home!
